Dr. VK Aravind is a leading Psychiatrist in Madurai, where he has been practising at Ram Psychiatry Hospital in the Anna Nagar locality of the city since 2004. His areas of specialisation include attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), biological psychiatry and psychopharmacology.

With an MD in Psychiatry as his main qualification, Dr. Aravind has also earned the title of Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association (FAPA), being the youngest recipient of this designation at age 40 in 2013. He received the "Best Outgoing Student" award from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore, in 2004. He was selected on three occasions for the Young Psychiatrist Award by the World Psychiatry Association. Dr. Aravind has also been invited as a faculty member and received awards at various psychiatry-related global events at Cairo, Caracas, Seoul, Taiwan, Beijing, Barcelona, Tokyo, New Delhi and many other international cities. He has numerous publications to his name, published in national and international peer-reviewed journals.

Dr. VK Aravind was Organising Secretary for the 45th Annual Conference of the Indian Psychiatric Association (South Zone), held at Madurai in October 2012. Dr. Aravind is part of the editorial team of the Indian Journal of Private Psychiatry and the Indian Journal of Psychological Medicine (South Zone). He is also an executive Council Member of the Asian Federation of ADHD and an Honorary Member of the International College of Neuropsychopharmacology (CINP).
